Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.

Arabs call for a UN mandated cease-fire

Well of course they do. Since Israel has now launched a ground offensive, Hamas is going to be crushed, and the Arab community knows it. What is disturbing to all of the UN ambassadors and other politicians saying that the attacks should be stopped. Where were these people while Hamas was sending rockets in to Israel, targeting civilians specifically? Where was the UN asking for humanitarian aid for the Jews and Christians trying to make a home in the disputed areas?

This started because Hamas asked for a 6 month truce, which allowed Hamas to put together enough munitions to start bombing Israel again. Israel complained to the appropriate people (read UN) to no avail and finally(!) decided to do something real about it. Israel has not only invaded the Gaza strip, they have activated an estimated 10,000 reservists in case Hezbollah or any other Arab nation-based group should choose to attack from the rear.

Hearing the UN and various Arab leaders start to whine about Israel exercising it's right to defend itself is sickening. Palestine as an entity has been attacking Israel for decades, and Hamas has spearheaded the attacks as long as it has been in existence. The UNSC is meeting to decide what they will do. The US is opposed to a UN presidential statement because it goes in to the UN's permanent record, while a press statement does not.

Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian U.N. observer, says that over 3000 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the air attacks, but the Gaza health officials say only 480 have been killed. Of course, Hamas has launched over 400 rockets in to Israel since the beginning of the air campaign, but there were no UN discussions about that.

And, of course, there's the standard statement from the terrorist group,
"You entered like rats," Hamas spokesman Ismail Radwan told Israeli soldiers in a statement on Hamas' Al Aqsa TV, broadcast shortly after the start of the invasion. "Your entry to Gaza won't be easy. Gaza will be a graveyard for you, God willing," he said.
Uh huh. Push them in to the sea.

"Push them in to the sea."
I agree. We should push the UN into the sea.

I've thought we should kick the UN out of New York for years. We pay for most of it, we supply the most troops and manpower and we give them a rent free building.

And for that, we get the kind of support we saw in Iraq.

The purpose of the UN was to provide a multinational body with the authority and force to prevent a new World War and a new holocaust. These days it seems to be the mouthpiece of socialism and the enemies of freedom.

If anything, the UN is going to become an enabler to both a new world war and another holocaust. We definitely need to stop funding them--or better, tell them to shape up or we'll stop funding them, and then go through with that promise if they don't listen.

P.S. I got an Ugly Doll for Christmas. His name is Peaco.

I hope and pray that the UN can be reigned in, but I believe that the new Obama administration won't prevent the UN's process of undermining American sovereignty. Just what we need. A North American Union much like the EU...structured like the UN.

Ah, Peaco. Three eyes. That's wonderful. They are really the cutest little ugly things, aren't they?
